Eumundi Community Bus
ECCO has proudly provided the Eumundi community with its major ‘wish’ a Community Bus. The Community Bus was acquired using funds raised from market car parking which source also funds the ongoing coordination and maintenance of the bus and its use.
The bus currently helps market and town shoppers every Wednesday and Saturday morning.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons the Community Bus brings folk into town from 4pm onwards so they can meet up with friends over dinner or a drink at one of our hospitality venues. The last bus leaves town at 11.30pm.
Due to popular demand the Community Bus provides a weekly outing for residents to Noosa Civic on Thursday mornings, leaving Eumundi at 9.30am at the town bus stop opposite to Discover Eumundi Heritage & Visitors Centre, picking up from Noosa Civic at midday for the trip back to town. Assistance with mobility is available at Noosa Civic where they have 4 wheelchairs available, at no cost, so if you require a wheelchair please let us know and we will phone ahead and see if one is available. From June 2011 the Community Bus is trialling a weekly outing to Cooroy leaving Eumundi at 1.30pm (same departure spot as Noosa Civic run) with the drop off point being the bus stop by Cooroy’s IGA, the return run back to town will leave Cooroy at 3pm.
These community outings are supported in part by passengers gold coin donations.
A booking is essential for a ride on the Community Bus (required by Government regulations) – the bus cannot be hailed so please put this number in your mobile phone, on your fridge, or in your wallet:
